UI & Animation Significance

While this landing page is detailed it is a main area to control how Total Launcher looks and reacts to a user's touch. There are 3 main areas in the dialog:

  • User Interface … how it looks
    • This is the largest section, and it controls the static elements of the screen — essentially, “setting the stage.” It manages yo wallpaper (including live updates and scrolling effects), the visibility of the device's bars (status and Navigation), and the overall color themes.
  • This is where a screen can be decluttered, for a minimalist look where the status bar (clock/battery) disappears to show off wallpaper, or a place for menus or to hide widgets.
  • Page Transition … the movement
    • This section controls the “flow” when you swipe from a home screen page to another to another page. It provides selections for an animation style, such as sliding, fading, or 3D effects and sets the animation's duration or how fast the swipe happens. Changing this can make a device feel faster or fancier. A “shorter” duration may feel snappier while a “longer” duration could make the transition look smoother and more elegant.
  • Sliding Drawer … for hidden tools
    • This feature will allow the use of the edges of the screen as invisible triggers which enable drawers on the left, right, top, or bottom. When swiping in from these edges, a hidden container with user-selected objects slides out.
    • This is a powerful organizational option to keep the current screen clean and empty and hide favorite apps in a “left” drawer that only appears when needed.

Recommendations for First-Time Users

  • Start Simple with Transitions: Don't worry about complex animations in early ventures. Try changing the Animation duration to a lower number (like 300ms) to see a snappier feel.
  • Hide the Bars: In the User Interface section, try checking Hide status bar. It instantly makes your setup look more professional and custom.
  • One Drawer may be Enough: Sliding drawers on all four sides is uncommon. Start by enabling just *On the left and use it for your most-used apps. The dialog for Total Launcher's UI & Animation page is extremely long. For this ui navigation it has been split into three (3) areas. Images of the areas are shown below.
